  • Fleshlight = Good

Honestly, I think the Fleshlight is very good for people under 18 too. It keeps younger people away from real sex and keeps teens away from deadly infections like STI and all that...

Actually I wont delete it. Expressing an opinion is still legal in this country. We're not allowing discussion of how to assist an underage person in buying a FleshLight, because that's aiding and abetting (sp?). We encourage discussion of opinions about existing laws.

If we did not allow such discussions, the civil rights movement and womens rights to vote would never have been enacted. Laws change over time with the perceptions of whats moral in society in general.

On that note, anyone care to link to some .gov or .edu law sites containing any laws that might have something to do with why it seems that it is either illegal for an underage person to buy a sex toy, or for someone to sell a sex toy to an underage person.
Any laws about "sex toy = obscene = illegal to sell, period" won't do.

Or does it simply fall under the same laws/common practices that prohibit porn mags/movies (condoms ?) from reaching people under 18 ? In which case reclassifying FL as a therapeutic or educational device (which they already should have to do in some states) would be enough.

Absolutely ANYTHING that is going to encourage a minor to get involved in, or try sex, or the similation of such... is NEVER going to be made legal for a minor no matter WHAT argument you can come up with.

He asked what makes it ILLEGAL... if there's one or more statutes that you can be prosecuted under if you do help a minor.

                  http://public.leginfo.state.ny.us/me...MMONQUERY=LAWS
Several state laws I skimmed through
has the following almost work for word:
                  6. "Harmful to minors" means that quality of any description or
representation, in whatever form, of nudity, sexual conduct, sexual
excitement, or sado-masochistic abuse, when it:
                  (a) Considered as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest in sex of
                  minors; and
                  (b) Is patently offensive to prevailing standards in the adult
community as a whole with respect to what is suitable material for
                  minors; and
                  (c) Considered as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic,
political and scientific value for minors.
The general consensus seems to be:
masturbation = sexual conduct = harmful to minors = illegal

Thanks so that pretty well puts this one to rest Its definitely safer to consider it illegal to sell FleshLight to minors, so I'll continue to enforce the policy of 'no discussions on how to get a minor access to a FleshLight'.

Discussions on whether you think this restriction is idiotic are welcome, as before

I believe a parent could get one for their own kid, yes?

In other words, the parents have the legal obligation and right to raise and train their kids... kids on their own just can't go out and do/buy whatever....

                          WAIT WAIT WAIT.

Ok, back up a minute. So we're saying that my local hospital as well as the birth control clinic here in town handing out condoms to minors is illegal?

condoms are not 100% safe... on some occasions they can break...

Having and using your own Fleshlight IS 100% safe... that's what ILF is all about... providing a safe-sex-alternative...

theoretically, handing out fleshlights makes more sense than handing out condoms at local clinics.... in fact, the founder of the Fleshlight tried getting the government to OK clinics handing them out....

But, you know how the government does things.... usually ass-backwards... so that didn't fly....

ILF DOES hand out SoloSafe in parts of the world that are in dire need of a safe-sex-alternative.... (see their www.ilfworld.com site)

but, lines are tricky to draw... I think a good solution would be to let the law guide and let the parents decide... I think it's wrong to take away a parent's right to raise their kids, and I also think it's wrong to just let anyone do whatever they want to their kids.... a balance between these two extremes is surely possible...
