Default Flight head cap stuck *please help

I'm not sure how but I cant remove the head cap of my Flight Nav.

After forcing to pull it out the ring that is suppose to hold the texture in place is pulled out of the body and stuck to the cover.

Anyone know how to easily remove the cap?

Is it just a matter of stuck plastic parts or is the sleeve also stuck inside the ring/top cap ?

If not, how about using some oil to remove the plastic parts ?

    Hi DaHorse,

The texture is ok, and has been removed without any damage.

    will try oil.

    Hi Sarah,

The sleeve was removed. I managed to remove the ring from the cap with some gunoil and a screwdriver. Though may have to sand the part a bit that caused it to stick from happening again..

Real gunoil or the lube ?

It would have been to easy to try some lube, as no one of us has that stuff at home :P

the lube. the part of the ring that connects to the cap is a bit scratched, but not that noticeable. had to apply a bit of brute force.

Those flight caps can get sticky sometimes. they usually come off though, haven't heard of a case other than yours where it got stuck for real!

Murphy's Law messing with me here. A little sanding should fix this.

I have the same problem with the Ice larger caps and I found running hot water over it for a few seconds and it will pop right off.

I have had the same problem with the white flight cap. I think it's a design flaw. It should be a lot easier to take off than what it is.

I had the same thing happen with the white flight case. Once I was able to get it off, I didn't put it back on. I agree that it could be a possible design flaw.

Actually, mine was delivered with the cap so tightly stuck that a vise and a pipe wrench couldn't separate them :P Customer support was kind enough to send me a new case. It's funny... All my US cases open and close smoothly, but all my EU cases does not :/

I had the same problem with the cap. When I put the cap back on, I made sure the dot patterns on the cap matches up with the ones on the case. I haven't had a problem taking off the cap ever since, but it could be different for yours though

I had to use an oil filter wrench. (The kind that is an adjustable rubber strap with a handle.) Seriously, it was stuck that tight. It's like they use a torque wrench when they put them on.
